From Shield to Storm: High-Tech Weapons, Military Strategy, and Coalition Warfare in the Perisan Gulf
Published in Paperback by iUniverse.com (June, 2001)
Average review score:

Thorough and insightfulThis book gives a thorough explanation of the troops and equipment used during the Persian Gulf War and the build up to the war. The authors dig to find the most accurate numbers. Also give expert analysis on the Iraqi army and coalition forces in terms of diplomacy and experience. Also good background on the history of the region. I give the book an A.

Fun With the Tin Whistle
Published in Paperback by MelBay Publications, Inc. (October, 1990)
Average review score:

An excellent book tin whistle beginnersWell when I got my first tin whistle I could play it a bit because I'd been playing the flute for a few years but when it came to buying a simple beginners book for it, it proved a challenge. All I wanted was a clear book with large printing that had a fingering chart for all the notes and lots of easy traditional reels and jigs and things. That's exactly what I found in this book, I just picked up my whistle and away I went, playing for hours on end with this fabulous book. The only suggestion I have is that you have a tin whistle in the key of D.
This book is designed for a D whistle, most books are. A C whistle will work as well but you won't get the same rich tone from it as you will from a D. I also suggest Walton tin whistles because they give you an excellent tone and last for ages. My first tin whistles were Waltons and I've never looked back. Well thanks for reading my review. This is an all in all excellent book and I totally reccomend it for beginner whistlers.

The Garden Lover's Guide: San Francisco Bay Area
Published in Paperback by Chronicle Books (April, 1998)
Average review score:

Necessary resource for Central CA gardenersA must for nursery-hopping gardeners in the San Francisco Bay Area. Extensive listings of a diverse slew of nurseries (and related businesses), garden clubs, classes and other resources is well- (and amusingly-) written. Sidebars throughout the book hold forth on various gardening issues: natives versus lawns, why to use botanical names, the egregious chopping that passes for pruning done by street tree crews, and so forth. Well worth the paltry asking price.

Georgian Bay: An Illustrated History
Published in Hardcover by Boston Mills Press (April, 1995)
Average review score:

A wonderful trip through a fascinating period in History.Reading this account of History about the Georgian Bay area reminded me of many of the "oldtimers" I have met through the years on Manitoulin Island. I have been going there for 50 years and I have observed that a lot of this area has been standing still in time. Growth is very slow and rightly so, because of the inaccessibility of much of the land. The people I have met are true pioneers with the heart and spirit to match. They are hard-working people with a love of the land and a determination to make the most of what they have. We could all take a lesson from these people steeped richly in their heritage.

Ghost Fleet of Mallows Bay and Other Tales of the Lost Chesapeake
Published in Hardcover by Tidewater Pub (November, 1996)
Average review score:

Detailed History !After reading just some of this book I went to Mallows Bay and canoed all through whats left of all these shipwrecks. While looking at the photos and reading some of what happened here I was hooked. There is so much history around that I will continue to read more about this area and go back for further visits!

The Glace Bay Miner's Museum
Published in Unknown Binding by Deluge Press ()
Average review score:

The price of coal. When this book showed up on the reading list of one of my fiction classes, I was quite boggled. I had never heard of Sheldon Currie. My girlfriend and I sat down on the couch to delve into this obscure novel. We finished it that same afternoon.
The story's power is only overshadowed by its shocking ending. I put the book down and my mind raced.
I never thought I could ever relate to coal miners in Nova Scotia, but Currie pulled me into the depthes of their bleak world. You too can see their life and their death through a remarkable young woman,Margaret.
This short novel inspired me to write a critical essay. I would love to share it with you, but I rather just whole-heartedly recommend this book in the space that I have available.
I had the opportunity to meet Sheldon Currie shortly after reading this book. This gave me a chance to shake his hand and thank him for introducing me to the miners of Glace Bay and the price of coal.

Granite Bay Jet Ski: A Computerized Business Simulation: Level 1: IBM 3.5" Windows Version
Published in Paperback by McGraw-Hill/Irwin (August, 1997)
Average review score:

Granite Bay Jet SkiI used this book in my MBA accounting class and found it very relevant to real life accounting and book keeping. It is quite easy to complete with a few tricky questions. Despite its ease of use and a few challenging problems, it does get tedious towards the end. It takes about 10 to 15 hours to complete this simulation.

Great Gravity the Cat

Average review score:

EXCELLENT!!I read this book over 1000 times when I was little, and I really miss it because it disappeared in about 1978. But there is never a dull moment inside.

History Of The PackIf you are a young Packer fan or are the parent of a young Packer fan, I would sincerely recommend this book. As the author and a Packer fan myself, I think the mixture of great photography and easy to enjoy text will appeal to backers of the Pack in particular, and football fans in general.
